Microsof licenses
Aside from the standard licenses you receive when purchasing Microsof products, you can also choose to
have the sofware preinstalled on your purchased computer, and opt for a less costly Ofcial Equipment
Manufacturer (OEM) version of the sofware. OEM sofware licenses are legal, Microsof authentcated
products that, even though they are not delivered in-box, in most cases do come with an operatng system
CD.
Salland Computers is a Microsof Authorized Refurbisher (MAR). Therefore Salland can ofer preinstalled
Microsof Windows sofware on refurbished computers for very compettve prices. This sofware comes
with fully legal licenses and has a Certfcate of Authentcity (COA).
The COA is a label by which authentc Microsof Windows sofware can be identfed. The COA is visibly placed on the outside of the computer. A MAR COA label
has no product code - instead, the product code is sent as document (PDF-fle), on which additonal sofware COAs (Ms Ofce, etc.) are placed.
MAR Licenses can only be issued on refurbished computers. Microsof considers a computer to be refurbished if:
- The PC has been in regular distributon and has been used for a minimum of 6 months.
- The original motherboard or an identcal replacement is present in the computer (deviatons from the original motherboard are seen as a new PC)
- The original COA label is present.
Advantages of MAR commercial licenses are the considerably lower costs compared to purchasing a completely new sofware suite, and the security of legal
sofware with access to all available updates. As ofcial Ms Authorized Refurbisher, Salland Computers Technology is subject to quality requiremeSalland imposed by
Microsof, and can only issue licenses if Salland ofers protecton against username and password abuse. Microsof reserves the right to check this by means of audits.

A commercial License means that the sofware is preinstalled legally on the computer, a Windows 7 Pro 64bits Windows 8.1 Pro 64bits
COA label is placed onto the machine, and a document is issued with the license code. Any

The Windows operatng system CD is included with the computer, which enables the
customer to perform an installaton recovery, should this be necessary.
The available Commercial licenses are shown in the adjacent table.

OEM Licenses
An Original Equipment Manufacturer Licente (OEM) can be delivered with new as well as used computers. The sofware comes preinstalled on the purchased
computer. Advantages of OEM licenses are the lover costs compared to retail versions, and Microsof support for the installed sofware. The counter-argument is
hat the documentaton and packaging of retail versions are much more expansive, whereas it is sparse with the OEM to save costs.
OEM versions of Windows are also preinstalled using the OEM Preinstallaton Kit (OPK), ensuring the out-of-the-box experience for the customer; welcome screen
with frst startup, acceptng terms and agreemeSalland individually during product actvaton.
A document is included with the OEM license; this is proof of the legality of your Microsof sofware. Aside from the computer with sofware, a CD/DVD/Media Kit
is also included, ensuring the customer is able to perform an installaton recovery, should this be necessary.
Creatng a custom recovery CD/DVD is not permited for OEM sellers; this has to be done with the media provided by Microsof. OEM licenses are linked to the
machine, and cannot be transferred from one computer to the next. When purchasing/selling a computer, the COA label, certfcate of authentcity, recovery
soluton and hologram CD/DVD/Media Kit should be included.
